Proposals have been made in the recent BBC document, Delivering Quality First, regarding the BBC Radio 1 Introducing Nations shows.

The BBC management propose to: “Replace the current late night Nations’ opt-out programmes on Radio 1 with a single programme that would offer a uk-wide platform for undiscovered, unsigned music and emerging talent from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland”

We think this is a blow to the music to the Welsh Music Scene… Having highlighted and promoted welsh talent such as Bullet for My Valentine, Joy Formidable, Funeral For A Friend, The Astroid Boys, Tiny Skitz, The Blackout, Kids in Glass Houses, Los Campesinos!, High Contrast, Duffy, Cate Le Bon, Gruff Rhys, Lostprophets, Marina & the Diamonds, Euros Childs, Future of the Left, The Automatic, Cuba Cuba, Manic Street Preachers, Colorama, Sweet Baboo,
